Join Tony Burke, who runs watercolour classes with Huddersfield U3A, for this interactive painting sessions.
Have you always wanted to take up watercolour painting? Or are you already a painter and want to develop your skills? This interactive tutorials will help you learn and develop painting techniques whatever stage you are at. You will be painting along with Tony and will require painting materials.
Painting equipment recommended:
- Paper: Saunders Waterford white 140lb Not. One imperial sheet will cost £5. Cut into 15” x 11” (2No) and 11” x 7.5” (4No). Or buy a 12” x 9” block of twenty sheets at a cost of about £25.
- Paint: Cotman or student grade, tubes are best. Paynes grey, scarlet, winsor yellow, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, raw sienna, warm sepia and white. Or a small boxed set. Upgrade to artists quality later.
- Brushes: No3 chinese goat hair, No8 and No4 round synthetics.
- Palette. Multi pocket with mixing wells.

- Plywood board 6-9mm size 18” x 14”. Block or a book to angle it.
- Masking tape, large water jar, kitchen roll, 2B pencil, ruler and soft eraser.
