30th Anniversary

On Monday 24th November, we marked a very special milestone — the 30th Anniversary of Redbridge & District u3a — with a joyful party at OLRS. Over 100 members, both long-standing and new, joined us for an afternoon filled with refreshments, entertainment, and community spirit.

Highlights included lively dancing and sing‑along moments with our wonderful singer Debbie Watts, as well as speeches from our distinguished guests: Iain Cassidy, CEO of the Trust, Jenny Wilson from London Region u3a, and myself as Chair.

We’ve been delighted to receive so many kind comments about how much everyone enjoyed the occasion. Although we had prepared for 120 guests, a few seats went unused when members were unable to attend at the last minute. The good news is that the surplus cakes are being happily shared at group meetings, so nothing will go to waste!

This celebration was a fitting tribute to three decades of learning, friendship, and community. And while we’re still savouring the memories (and the cakes), we’re already looking forward to our 35th Anniversary in 2030.
