Professor Rose Luckin shares with us what is really happening with AI in Education and shares some tips for using AI at home.
Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are already quietly woven into search results, photos, banking apps and family group chats. In this session, Professor Rose Luckin, who has researched AI in education for over thirty years, will set out what generative AI actually is, what today's tools are genuinely good at, what they are not, and what universities and schools are learning about using them well. She will look at where AI can be useful in life, from admin and hobbies to learning something new, and at what to watch for. She will also share what helps when talking to children and grandchildren about their own AI use. Time will be reserved for questions and discussion.
Following a short break, AI Subject Advisor Barry Claydon and the "AI for Everyone" team will host an update and discussion with a Q and A.
